Torchbearer of the Texas Writing Tradition
Vincent Neil Emerson
Songwriter Vincent Neil Emerson cut his teeth playing around the Dallas/ Ft. His most recent album, The Golden Crystal Kingdom, released by RCA/ La Honda Records received wide critical acclaim. No Depression said of the Shooter Jennings produced songs “[Emerson] brings a rebellious sense of history and keen-eyed lyrical perspective to modern Americana.” Often described as an inheritor of the songwriter torch, Emerson has been compared to Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt by former producer Rodney Crowell, also adding “He’s a great guy, a great writer, a great guitarist. I have a feeling he’ll be around for a while now.” Additionally Emerson’s album credits include Fried Chicken and Evil Women (2019) and Vincent Neil Emerson (2021). His songs have appeared in the TV shows Big Sky, Reservation Dogs, Landman, and Yellowstone.
